World Bank Project on the Implementation of the Gender Equity Program across the Transportation Sector in the Federated States of Micronesia

Go Equal has been partnering with the CH Group to lead and implement a Gender Equity Program across transport sector projects in the Federated States of Micronesia, a Pacific Island nation facing some of the region’s most significant gender equality challenges.
Dr Joyce Das was on the ground in Micronesia to implement gender equality initiatives and change. The work included training community and women’s associations and organisations to respond to sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment, building the gender awareness of government officers and the police force, helping the transport department develop fairer hiring and workplace practices for women, and run a pilot program on women’s driver’s licensing across the four states.
Dr Das travelled to Micronesia twice in this project, in March 2025, delivering training across Pohnpei and Kosrae, and again in September 2025, extending the program to Chuuk and Yap. Across all four states of FSM, the message was the same: gender equality is everyone’s responsibility, and change starts with knowledge, conversation, and commitment. This project highlights Go Equals speciality knowledge and capacity to take complex gender equity challenges into real-world settings and deliver practical, lasting change.
